Can you edit Apple Watch workout distance?

Not in place. Apple Health keeps a saved workout as it was recorded. The practical fix is a corrected copy, then deleting the original in Fitness.

Why the distance is locked

Apple Health stores a workout as structured data: distance, duration, energy, heart rate samples, route, laps, events and metadata. Apps can add new workouts but cannot change a saved one.

A wrong distance matters. If the treadmill says 5.00 km and the watch saved 4.62 km, pace, splits and weekly totals are all off.

What you can do instead

  1. Open Fix My Workout and choose the workout.
  2. Enter the right distance and review the new pace and laps.
  3. Save a corrected copy to Apple Health. The app checks it after saving.
  4. Check the copy, then delete the original in the Fitness app if you do not want two entries.

Should you delete the original?

The original stays a separate entry in Apple Health. Keep both and Fitness shows both, so your totals count the workout twice. Delete the original once the copy looks right.

In Fitness, delete only the workout. Remove other Health data only if you are sure you want to.

What else a corrected copy can fix

The same copy can trim the start or end, join two recordings, change the activity type, recalculate outdoor distance from GPS or set active calories. The fixes on offer depend on the activity and the data it recorded.
