How a fix works
Apple Health does not let any app change a saved workout. Fix My Workout saves a corrected copy next to it.
-

1Pick the workout
Your workouts from Apple Health, newest first. Filter by activity to find the one that is off.
-

2Set the right numbers
Distance, calories or time. The details show before and after while you edit.
-

3Save a checked copy
The copy goes to Apple Health and is checked after saving. Delete the original in Fitness when you are ready.
Correct distance and pace
Enter the distance the treadmill showed. Pace, speed, stride length and laps follow. The time stays as recorded.
Example: a 35:43 treadmill run with 6,312 steps that the watch saved as 5.90 km. Laps use Spread evenly, one of six lap methods.
| Value | Watch saved | Fixed copy |
|---|---|---|
| Distance | 5.90 km | 6.40 km +500 m |
| Pace | 6′03″ /km | 5′35″ /km |
| Speed | 9.9 km/h | 10.8 km/h |
| Stride | 0.93 m | 1.01 m |
| Time | 35:43 | 35:43 |
- 15:00
6′45″6′14″ - 27:00
5′50″5′23″ - 37:00
5′47″5′20″ - 47:00
5′53″5′25″ - 57:00
5′56″5′28″ - 62:43
7′09″6′35″
Trim the start or end of a workout
Cut the warm-up or the minutes the watch kept recording after you stopped. Only the selected time range is kept in the corrected copy.
- Set the seconds to remove from the start and the end, or type an exact value.
- Combine a trim with a distance or calorie fix in the same save.

- New start
- 11:01:00
- New end
- 11:51:00
- Duration
- 50:00
Join two workouts into one
A paused watch, a flat battery or a second device can split one session in two. Join the parts into one workout in Apple Health.
- Where two recordings overlap, you choose which one counts.
- No distance is drawn across the gap between two routes.
- Optional alerts suggest a join when two recent recordings look like one session. You review the pair before anything is saved.

Example ride. The joined copy is saved next to the two originals.
Recalculate distance from GPS
When the saved distance and the route disagree, measure the route. Fix My Workout counts only its reliable GPS sections.
- Points with poor accuracy, signal gaps, pauses and jumps are left out of the calculation.
- The original route stays as recorded. No points are added.
- For outdoor runs, walks, rides and hikes with a route.

Only reliable GPS sections count. The original route stays intact.
Heart rate, calories and activity type
Check the whole workout before you save, and fix more than distance.
-

Heart rate and your zones
Minute by minute, over time or distance, with the time spent in each of your zones.
-

Active calories
Set the calories you burned in HIIT, yoga, Pilates, strength, boxing and other gym workouts.
-

Activity type
Change a workout saved under the wrong type, such as a walk that was a run.
Import FIT files. Export FIT, GPX, TCX, CSV or JSON.
Bring in a workout recorded on another device, or take any workout out of Apple Health, original or fixed.

Import
- Open a .fit file from Files, Mail or the share sheet.
- Review the workout: duration, distance, calories and laps.
- Confirm to save it to Apple Health. Nothing is written before that.
Export
A binary FIT activity with the session, laps and records. Records carry position, distance, speed, heart rate, cadence, power and altitude when the workout has them.
// Outdoor Cycling.fit, decoded
file_id type=activity
session sport=cycling total_distance=9600 m
lap start_time total_timer_time total_distance
record timestamp position_lat position_long
distance speed heart_rate cadence power altitude
The route only: points with elevation and time. Available when the workout has a route.

Questions
Can I edit a workout in the Apple Health app?
Apple Health does not let you change the distance, pace or calories of a saved workout. Fix My Workout saves a corrected copy instead and checks it after saving.
How do I fix Apple Watch treadmill distance?
Open the run in Fix My Workout, enter the distance the treadmill showed and save. The app saves a corrected copy with pace and laps recalculated. You can then delete the original in the Fitness app.
Why is my Apple Watch treadmill distance wrong?
Indoors there is no GPS, so the watch estimates distance from arm movement and stride. Holding the rails, incline and pace changes all throw the estimate off.
What happens to the original workout?
Nothing. It stays in Apple Health. After you check the copy you can delete the original in the Fitness app. Fix My Workout shows how but never deletes it for you.
Can I merge two workouts into one?
Yes, two compatible recordings of the same session. You choose which recording counts where they overlap, and the joined workout is saved to Apple Health as a copy.
Can I shorten a workout I forgot to stop?
Yes. Trim seconds or minutes from the start or the end. Only the selected time range is kept in the corrected copy.
My outdoor run distance looks wrong. Can GPS fix it?
If the workout has a GPS route, Fix My Workout measures it along the reliable sections and lets you choose that distance or the recorded one. No points are added and the route stays as recorded.
Can I import a FIT file into Apple Health?
Yes. Open a .fit file from Files, Mail or the share sheet, review the workout and confirm. Nothing is written to Apple Health until you do.
Which formats can I export?
FIT, TCX, CSV and JSON for any supported workout, and GPX when the workout has a route. You can export the original or the corrected workout.
Which workouts can I fix?
21 workout types saved in Apple Health: indoor and outdoor runs, walks and rides, pool and open water swims, hiking, stair climbing, elliptical, HIIT, mixed cardio, yoga, Pilates, core training, flexibility, traditional and functional strength training, climbing and boxing. The fixes on offer depend on the activity and the data it recorded.
Does my health data leave my iPhone?
Only when you export a file or choose to send diagnostics. Anonymous app statistics go to TelemetryDeck and never include health data.
How much does Fix My Workout cost?
The download is free and includes 3 fixes. One in-app purchase unlocks unlimited fixes and works with Family Sharing. There is no subscription.
What do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 18 or later and access to Apple Health. The app is available in more than 40 languages.
